14 September 2013: Rhiwbina V Pentyrch Rangers

Rhiwbina 7 V 2 Pentyrch Rangers

With  a number of new players having joined the squad, the full complement of substitutes were used to begin the process of team building.  Not surprisingly, it was difficult for players and coach alike to establish a settled pattern to their play, particularly against a strong and dynamic Rhiwbina team.
Having gone 3 - 0 down, a weighted through pass from Will for Sam to run on to and drive home gave the team some hope of staging a fightback.  With the half-time score 3 - 1 Pentyrch started the second half in positive mood. But, just as the team was building momentum, a mistake saw Alfie Gower latching on to the ball to ram home Rhiwbina's fourth goal.  This was soon followed by a fifth.
Pentyrch's second goal came as a result of a long ball out of defence by Lucas, which Will directed into the path of Callum with a weighted header.   Callum drew the defender and goalie, before sliding the ball across the box for Leigh to tap home.
But with Pentyrch chasing the game, Rhiwbina were able to pick off another two goals to run out 7 -  2 winners overall.
